My first memory is what I thought was a recurring dream. I told my mom about it and she was amazed, claiming it actually happened! What I told her was that I was lying down, and I remember seeing my brother, Billy choking and my mom freaking out while trying to help him. It looked like we were in a small camper and mom was at first at the small sink and Billy was across from me on a little bench like seat. She told me that was when we lived in Ridgecrest. She said that I couldn't even sit up yet so she was very surprised that I could remember it.
This is a picture of my mom, her mom, Grandma Pearl, my dad, Billy and me. We are visiting Grandma, and I think she lived in Riverside, California. I know that it was the year that I was born because of the bicentennial calendar behind us and how little we are. But then again it does look like an ornate calendar that she may have kept on the wall to commemorate the 200-bicentennial year... So, I may have been one years old... I do not remember this particular visit but do have a memory of visiting here in Riverside. I remember waking up very early and the air seemed different than at home... moister maybe. We didn't go and visit anyone very often, so it always felt special...
